When my 2 teenagers were very young, a librarian read this book to them at a storyhour. Bub" became our code word for "love" and whenever any of us wants to remind another of our feelings, we say "bub" to each other. Phone calls end with "bub", we encourage them on the baseball field and basketball court with "C'mon, Bub!", it's become one of those familial idiocyncrasies that we will all cherish for our lifetimes. I received this book as a gift. What a great gift. All three of my children have learned about "bub". You'll have to read it to figure out the mystery for yourself.
