Our son and family do mission work in Haiti. I bought these books for our Grandson's first birthday. It is perfect!!!!
Perfect book to take on a mission trip to Haiti--I could read in Haitian Creole, but know what I was saying. The kids loved it!
I bought the whole serious for my 10 month old daughter after her doctor gave her, "Where's the puppy"? at one of her well baby check-ups. She absolutely loved the book! We took it with us to Church every Sunday and it kept her occupied. My daughter is now 15 months old and she still loves this book and all of the others in this series. These are by far her favorite books and she has a lot of books. They are also fun to read to her. Even her older 10 year old sister enjoys reading these little flap books to her baby sister. If you have a baby or need to buy a gift for someone who does, you can't go wrong with this book!
I love these little English/Haitian Creole board books. I think there are six titles in all, and I usually buy a couple of copies of each to take with me to a school I visit in Haiti. I wish there were more books available in Haitian Creole... the kids I visit love to get them.
the pictures are not that great especially for a child but it does have the english and haitian which is why i bought it.
The overall concept is a very good one, the photographs could be better more colorful, vibrant, etc. But the quality of the book makes me fearful for my child's safety. The edges very sharp and the cardboard very flimsy. Can possibly hurt a child or cause a paper cut.
Why is there a white child on the cover? Haiti is a Black country and Creole is a beautiful language that was created by Black people. What more can be taken away from the Haitian people? This is a travesty. How much more can be appropriated from Haiti? What a shame.
