This book is adorable and easy to read. I love the unfinished look of the watercolor illustrations, and bears are my child's favorite animal, so this book was an all around win. We were first introduced to this book by our children's librarian, but when I saw there was a board book version, we had to own it. My 18-month-old is tough on books, so board books are king at our house.

Who would have thought five words could come together for a wonderful book. I found this book at my local library and read it to my daughter. She wanted me to read this book over and over again. She loves this book! We have even read Orange Pear Apple Bear up to eight times a day! We went to the library a few weeks ago and when my daughter saw the book she screamed with delight. I realized that I had to get her a copy of this book. My daughter was only 11 months old at the time.

I bought this based on the positive reviews and was a little disappointed when we first got it. The illustrations are simple and beautiful, but I didn't think the "story" would hold my daughters attention. Well, I was wrong. She loves the bear and yells as soon as she sees him. We read the book at least once per day. So, I was wrong. The only thing I still don't like is that it is a heavy board book for little hands. She has a difficult time picking it up and bringing it to me when she wants to read it.
Burilar
My book was printed upside down and backwards. Clearly printer error. To be truthful though, I was already disappointed in the "story" of the book itself. Boring. Yawn.

This is a cute book with a total of five words (orange, pear, apple, bear, there) in the whole thing.

It starts off just labeling objects, but then turns a bit surreal "Apple, pear, orange bear. Orange, pear, apple bear. Orange, apple, pear bear" and finally caves to the bear's appetite.

It's cute, it's sweet, little kids like it, and it's very short for those short attention spans.

Great pictures and sweet text. More for a baby or toddler who is book wary. My daughter enjoyed this but quickly forgot about it after a few reads.

This book was an instant favorite! The art is so sweet and cute. That bear has the BEST expressions ever. Love the rhyme and the creative wordplay. Little one enjoys it now at one year and will continue to grow into understanding of the humor and wordplay. And for extra giggles, I read it aloud at a normal pace and then again as fast as I can! Kid cracks up every time and I do, too.
Well sing / read this to the tune of "head, shoulders, knees and toes". I love, my daughter loves it, even the dog loves it.
