This is a good resource for those suffering from sciatica - anything that works for you will certainly be a relief. good Luck.
fast shipping, book was helpful.
This is just one of very many books that is based on modern medicine's antiquated belief that the cause of chronic pain, including sciatica, is structural in nature. Chronic pain is not structural in nature--it is psychophysiologic. Read the book "Healing Back Pain: The Mindbody Connection." by John E Sarno. It is here where you will find the cure--and yes, I did say cure--for sciatica. Note the 750 positive reviews on Sarno's book.

Any book on chronic pain that does not include Dr. Sarno's work on TMS is unfortunately nothing more than a false lead that steers readers away from the truth.

As. Dr. Sarno states in his book, "Successful treatment depends on an accurate diagnosis." Sciatica is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The proper diagnosis for sciatica is TMS (Tension Myositis Syndrome) and the therapy for it ("knowledge therapy") is very effective for those who are willing to accept a psychophysiologic diagnosis (which TMS is). There is no need to know 15 different complementary approaches to treating 'sciatica.' One only needs to know and understand TMS.

With all due respect to the authors, if you wish to serve your readers well then you MUST learn about and come to terms with the reality of TMS. See sources below:

--Wikipedia. Look up 'tension myositis syndrome.'
--"Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection" John E. Sarno, MD (2010)
--"The Divided Mind: The Epidemic of Mindbody Disorders " John E. Sarno, MD (2007)
--*The Great Pain Deception: Faulty Medical Advice Is Making Us Worse”—Steven Ray Ozanich (2011)------[my personal favorite].
--tmswiki.org (includes series of weekly audio recordings about TMS)
--youtube.com. Look up "Dr. John Sarno 20/20" and others. I especially like the testimonial by 'Juliet Archdale' --how Sarno's book 'Healing Back Pain' gave her her life back in just 2 weeks.
The author gave many different approaches to treating sciatica.I found the book helpful in this vein, but anyone looking for a specific treatment for sciatica should look elsewhere.
