Dinosaur Shaman book. Mark Schultz's art continues to improve in the second volume from his Xenozoic Tales series. The only downside of the collection is that it includes a lot of filer material written by Schultz but drawn by another artist. This material adds to the backstory of the series, but without Schultz's art it doesn't reach the level of his fully penciled work. Jul 11, 2008 Burt rated it it was amazing. Xenozoic Tales, Volume 1: After The End. Mark Schultz. This is the second volume of Schultz's ( Cadillacs and Dinosaurs ) beautifully illustrated tale of the Xenozoic era, set a century after an apocalyptic upheaval on earth. This catastrophe, inflicted by man's abuse of the earth and by a mysterious reaction from the planet itself, has transformed the earth into a biological anachronism. Dinosaurs roam vast uninhabited plains; humankind rebuilds its societies with a paradoxical mixture of primitive rural labor and relatively advanced technology; and the frontier beyond the City in the Sea is harsh and deadly. Enter mechanic/shaman Jack.
