I was hoping to get some traditional as well as fun rounds to sing with my choir. The songs are mostly centered on unusual and random topics; such as the solar system (pluto as a planet), wearing a bike helmet, gratitude for latitude, brushing your teeth, celsius to fahrenheit. These are hard to put into a musical curriculum, though I guess a teacher might use them throughout a school day. Most children would need to practice these songs numerous times, and I don't know if a song about "the north star" is worth working on for that long. The speech ensembles are just plain weird - giving the life cycle of a butterfly (a "rap" stating "one skin, two skins. . . ). I won't use those at all. I hope to use the nicely written melodies/2-parts and add some more traditional (and catchy) words (or praise songs for church).

This is an excellent resource for any music teacher expected to integrate music into the regular ed curriculum. The songs teach content while maintaining musical integrity. They are not "learn in an instant" songs but very sing-able. The kids love them! I hear kids after school singing The Continents song! I want Gilpatrick to make a vol. 2!!
